Questions? Let us help.

We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions we receive.

If I get a Heart Scan, will I get a Heart Calcium Score?

Yes, our scan measures the calcium buildup in your coronary arteries and determines a specific score that reflects the amount of calcium present.

Why is this important?

A calcium score is a helpful tool for predicting your risk of a heart attack. It allows your doctor to determine if further testing or treatment is needed. Additionally, the score can guide personal lifestyle changes to help reduce your risk of a heart attack.

While a higher calcium score indicates a greater likelihood of a future heart attack, it’s important to remember that other factors—such as age, gender, and family history—also play a role in assessing your overall heart health.

How long does the scan take?

Because you don’t have to change clothes and there are no needles, no dyes, and no prep time needed, it’s one of the fastest and easiest medical tests you can take at less than five minutes.

Can I get a scan if I am claustrophobic?

Our state-of-the-art CT scanner allows you to go in head-first without the need to scan your head, helping to alleviate feelings of claustrophobia. By avoiding full-body confinement, we aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible. In cases where additional support is needed, a sedative may be recommended by your doctor, and we can assist with providing a prescription if necessary.

Does insurance cover the scan?

Most commercial insurers, including Medicare, do not cover these types of scans. However, we have financing designed to fit your budget with monthly payment plans starting at less than $100 a month.

What’s the difference between a heart CT and an MRI?

A heart CT scan and an MRI differ primarily in their ability to image the heart. Heart CT scans are specifically designed to detect calcium buildup in the coronary arteries and assess the risk of heart disease. In contrast, MRI scans cannot effectively image the heart because it’s a moving organ, making them less useful for heart-related diagnoses.

Heart CT scans are also quicker and more convenient, typically taking less than five minutes with no special preparation required. This makes them a preferred method for heart disease screening, especially when compared to MRIs, which are not suited for heart imaging.

Are all scanning companies the same?

No, not all companies that offer CT scans are the same. The technology used, the experience of the provider, and the total number of scans performed play a significant role in the quality of the results. We pride ourselves on offering the latest Computed Tomography (CT) technology, with over 100,000 successful scans performed to date.

Unlike some companies that send clients to third-party facilities, we own and operate all of our own equipment. This means your entire scan process takes place in one location, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience from start to finish. Our dedicated team and state-of-the-art equipment are all housed under one roof, providing you with the highest level of care and convenience.
